Welcome to the Asian Symposium on Risk Assessment & Management 2026 (ASRAM 2026).
It is our great pleasure to host ASRAM 2026 on Jeju Island, Korea, at the Jeju Oriental Hotel, and to warmly welcome all participants from across Asia and around the world.
Established in 2016, ASRAM has grown into a leading international forum dedicated to advancing research and practice in risk assessment and management. The symposium has been held annually on a rotating basis among Korea, Japan, and China, fostering close regional collaboration and mutual understanding in probabilistic safety assessment and related fields. Since last year, participation has expanded further with the inclusion of Thailand, reflecting the growing scope and relevance of ASRAM within the Asian region.
Over the years, ASRAM has provided a valuable platform for researchers, engineers, regulators, and practitioners to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and discuss emerging challenges in risk science. Topics addressed by the symposium span a broad range, including system reliability, human and organizational factors, risk governance, and risk-informed decision-making for complex socio-technical systems. Through these exchanges, ASRAM has contributed significantly to strengthening regional cooperation and nurturing the next generation of experts in safety and risk analysis.
ASRAM 2026 continues this tradition with a rich technical program that highlights both well-established methodologies and emerging frontiers, such as resilience-based approaches, the use of AI in safety analysis, and integrated risk management under increasing uncertainty. We hope that the discussions and interactions during this symposium will stimulate innovative ideas and lead to lasting international collaborations.
The Organizing Committee gratefully acknowledges the generous financial and institutional support provided by the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), and FNC. Their support has been instrumental in making ASRAM 2026 possible.
We sincerely thank all speakers, participants, and contributors for joining us, and we wish you a productive and enjoyable symposium in Jeju.
